Hello again! My previous blog post made no real attempt at actually explaining what the purpose of this blog is, and I've also changed my mind on how I want to run it since I posted it, so this entry is more or less a pos-script of that entry.
For one, this won't be a journal. I will occasionally post shower thoughts here if I feel a reason to, but this is mainly going to be an outlet for me to just write about stuff I'm interested in at a given moment.
As far as specifics, the only posts I know I want to make for sure are various forms of opinion pieces on media, but most of these will be about music reviews (which will probably be sub-professional at best) on albums I feel a reason to review. Real ones will remember that I used to be an active micro-celebrity on AlbumOfTheYear when I was at my most insufferable, but the more time I spend on that website and others like it, the more I realize that rating websites just are not my thing. I will say though; I still think to this day that Rate Your Music is a wonderful website when used as a compendium rather than a form of social media, but I'll probably write an entire post about that website at some point.
A band that I know for a fact I want to write about here is Autechre. I haven't heard their entire discography so I won't do a discography dive any time soon, but I absolutely want to review their 2001 album Confield sooner than later. Songs on it like "Pen Expers" and "Bine" aren't far off from what you'd hear if you put various metal objects into a blender, but my autistic brain still finds it better than Jane Remover's Frailty, making it my all-time favorite as of writing. After I spend this next month saving money, buying a Japanese import CD of that album will be probably the first thing I buy.
I don't have anything else to yap about here, and I can't guarantee that I'll be able to post anything significant as I have marching band camp for the next two weeks, but I'll try to get something out during that time. Thanks for reading my silly blog. Take care of yourself <3
